Thanks again.
I know I come across as a complete beginner (because I am!!) but how many of these do I need and is there any tips or pictures for where I actually place the foam??

Re the bottom card thing. I have made them in the past. A piece of thin flexy alloy sheet from B& Q. Fashion a bit of a curve on it and cut to shape to slide underthe rad bottom tank. Spray black and fit a strip of seal strip on top surface were it fits under the bottom rad tank to prevent rattle. Secure with two self tappers with penny washers into factory holes for original.
Bobs your Uncle.
Only seen bought on once. Seems very easy to break and susceptible to the wet.

Home-made foam in place (shaped to suit )..

EDIT..if you look carefully you can also see the shaped foam pieces stuck to the inner wings...all the air coming in from the front went through the radiator...

Ignore the swirl pot and HP pump, you can see the bottom blanking plate wedged between the radiator and body...

Sue Miller sells GRP ones... inexpensive & impervious to fluids...

If I remember correctly I made mine from an old polythene oil drum, weatherproof and flexible...just snaps into place in the ridge at the bottom of the radiator and behind the f/glass lip at the bottom.
