Found this today in my pile of bits , not quite sure which model it's off or how much it's worth make me a offer

If it's an original old part then it's probably worth a fair bit. Stick it on the bay and let them fight it out.

Yes I think it's original what model lotus does it come off?

If you look on the rear, there will be a date code stamped on the brass bar (if it's oem)

Do s search on here.. we decoded it.. but my guess is 66-71 Elan & 7

Lotus Cortina Mk 1 as well as Elan's until about '65/66.

Fairly good repros have been offered by RDent since this summer, both in black and yellow - that plus the fact that the mechanism itself is the same as on Triumph, for those (like myself) who'd prefer an original bristle brownish Bakelite type of surround over the shiny plastic - this should tame speculation a bit on that item imho...

the bakelite "housing" is the same as the midget and many triumphs have - at 30quid the complete item! sandy

Lotus went to black after that - cheaper I guess.
