I had a new looming fitted a while ago. It appears a bit messy in the boot so I want to tidy it up and route all the wires the way they should be.

Can anyone shed light on how the wiring was meant to be routed between the rear lights? Mine is currently lose and hanging low on the boot floor. It's also hanging down from where it enters the boot from the back seats. Is it supposed to be clipped or tied up somewhere, if so what do people use?

get yourself some loom tape first! should have one run from RH light to LH light picking up the rear number plate light cables. i decided to add in earth leads from rear number plate lights ( there are brass clips to take bullet connectors already in situ ) as I'm convinced the use of the rear bumper bolts for the earth lead caused electrolytic corrosion when wet....
I've then used cable ties to the underside of the rear panel angle iron & left the loom resting on boot floor to left of spare wheel .I could have threaded the rear loom behind the rear panel angle iron cardboard/ carpet cover but thought about it too late! Avoid drilling holes in the fibreglass to screw the loom into place. It's not worth it and will only cause probs in long run IMHO.

Thanks Rich. My number plate cables have their own cable already running to the left light (where most of the connection are situated) and they pick up positive from the main loom. I guess I could minimise this by cutting the right hand light cable and using bullets to hook up the number plate lights just below the boot latch area. It shouldn't have any effect on the voltage/light output of the right light?

right . but why bother? just wrap them all together
My younger son redid the whole loom- front to back.....I was looking out for the radio aerial 'cos I couldn't see it anywhere & he said no Dad i've incorporated it into the loom!
