Randy, are they switched separately? Only in all the wiring diagrams I have for the +2'S', including federal, they clearly show two switches, one labelled "Fog lamp switch" & the other labelled "Spot lamp switch" & the two respective bulbs labelled "Fog lamp" & "Spot lamp", Whereas for the 'S130', again both federal & home market, they show only one switch, labelled "Fog lamp switch" & both bulbs are labelled "Fog lamp". Despite this, my 'S130' had one fog & one spot light, which I thought incorrect, but was subsequently told by more than one lotus specialist, & two ex-factory workers, that that was how they left the factory, at least until they had run out of spot lights. One of the ex-workers said he had suggested that they fit them in pairs, so one car would have fog lights, & another would have spot lights, but they were told to continue fitting one of each, as had been the case for the earlier models. Whether that's right or wrong, I can't say, but I can see no reason for him to make the story up. I suspect it's another case of there's no definitive answer :?

Seems the fog/Spot thing is an old subject... I'll have to go check but i think my S has a switch for each side just under the right side of the dash and my 135/5 just has one switch and a reset for the Odometer.

Maybe Gus will know

Mine has mechanical oil pressure gauge........because I stole one from a TC Europa.....

AFAIK they should all be electric, in fact I swapped the gauge positions because the mechanical is much deeper and would not clear the defroster vent

Thanks, Tim. My car (Feb 1970) has the two separate switches for the lights. You know, perhaps one of the lens was replaced after breakage and that's how I ended up with two fogs. But they have such a uniform "road sand" blasting that they must be very similar in age.

It would not surprize me to find that on the assembly line, if they ran out of spots that day, they installed dual fogs on occasion. :)

Regards,

Randy

Is it known how many early cars were LHD? Mine, 0887, has all the early bits and is LHD.
