Hi Randy,

Good idea. We have become a bit skewed now towards brakes/master cylinders.........!

Yeah, sorry about that, Peter. Sometimes we get a bit carried away with our own thing and lose track of the original poster's (OP's) issues.

Best wishes . . .

Good morning. A very interesting story. While it is interesting discussing the size of master cylinders, why don't you just replace the missing servo? They are around ?100 in the uk. I realize the issue you have getting parts shipped to Africa, but given you need a few items, would it not be easler to establish a shipping channel rather than modify your car?

Just my thought......................

Hi David,

This is the route I would prefer. However I recall that when i last researched the matter only Lockheed servos were available new at over GBP200 and having the Girling refurbished cost much the same and entailed getting the old one over to the UK first. The Lockheed servo also needs different brackets and piping to the original.I looked at having the Girling refurbished in South Africa but that was going to cost about GBP300 and i had unfavourable reports about the results.

But in truth I need to revisit the matter and see if a replacement servo is not the best option. It is several years since I last looked into it.

Heater is on the bench. New uj's for the prop shaft ready to install and brake pipes ready to cut, flare and fit - aiming for a busy weekend
