Elan plus 2 weight

I am looking the weight of the plus 2 in different sources and there are big differences. One says 855 kg others 946 kg. What is the weight for a 130/5? Are big difference between the early and late models? Is so much the difference with the baby elan? I think that 946 kg is to much for a fibre glass body and is the same weight as a Lotus cortina...
Someone knows the real weight?

right around 2000 lbs

there should be little difference between the various models, different interior and 5 speed could add 10- 20 lbs to late cars, maybe

I had mine checked out on a weighbridge -

lotuselan-plus2-f51/lardass-t20826.html

The bodyshell on mine is very heavy due to extra layers of glass matting put on by a PO - confirmed by all who tried to lift it when it was stripped...

940 kg = 2068 lbs

I was glad to look back at the old forum posts to see someone else in the 1700 lb range. Admittedly, I was on pretty low fuel but weighed in at 1752. I put my 70' +2 on the scales to check corner weights when I first bought it. I was pleasantly surprised to be within a 1/2% with me in the car without having to tweak anything.

would be interested what is in your car

spare?
carpets
trunk floor
etc

seems pretty light, but lack of fuel and a few other things would amount to 100 lbs, the rest is the question

Good question. Trunk floor was out. Still haven't fixed the trunk leak yet :) spare was in. the rest was mostly stock. Since then I've gotten rid of the generator and the cast exhaust manifold so I'll have to grab my buddies scales and have another go.
