strange steel strip

I have come accross this strange steel strip inside both doors as in pic.
Can anyone shine some light on this ?
Maybe to hold e seal ?
If anyone's got the same i would appreciate you posting a photo.

This could be the strip that holds the molding to stop drips entering the cabin.

Thanks for your help...been reading up on this secondary seal and apparently it was fitted to early plus twos.
I'll clean them and plate them and will refit them with a 90 degree seal.

Gino, my car is a February 1970 Plus 2S (Federal) and had the same metal plate and seal on the inner wing surface, like in your pic. Actually can't remember now off hand what the complementary seal was on the inner leading edge of door. Would have to go back through the pics. I fiberglassed over all those holes and will wait till after final assembly to determine what if any secondary seals I will install. But most probably not a metal plate, etc.
