I want to paint my Elan plus 2 in Glacier Blue. But I don't see many cars in this colour. Has someone this colour in his car?

I have this colour and I have to say it is my favourite for the Plus 2.
I think it is found on later Plus twos but I am still thinking of respraying my early car in this colour. I didn't expect to keep the colour it came with, but I do love it.

My Europa is in Glacier Blue, I think it is quite a rare colour in Lotus of that period, I think it looks fantastic!!

Thanks - posted as encouragement to paint the Plus 2 that colour!
Glacier Blue is not original to a 69 Europa and not original for most Plus 2 cars either, but what's wrong with painting a lovely car a beautiful colour?!!!!

Thanks Dave. Trouble is that I did intend to paint yet another car myself but her indoors is determined that after seeing a beautiful Sprint in town recently (built and painted by Paul Matty
) that her birthday present - the Plus 2 should have a 'proper' paint job! I must admit that metallic painting is not my strong point.
I am off to see a man soon who used to paint for Peter Day so re-mortgaging the house looks likely
Kev.

Saw the earlier post saying that Glacier Blue was only on Plus 2s for 3 months - not sure when that was, here is a link to an advert for a Europa Brochure with what looks like a Glacier Blue one on the cover, 1971 - assume use on Plus 2 may have been around the same time?

David
Please see my post above regarding Glacier Blue for the Plus 2S 130 and the relevant dates of its availability.
I believe the Europa brochure uses a Lagoon Blue metallic car, a colour available from October 1970.

Great brochure, David. Very nice pix.
I would hazard a guess that the Europa in the brochure is not in Glacier Blue metallic. Looks too dark.
The Lotus-Europa website colours page lists a L41 Crystal Blue but with no pix for reference. Don't know whether that might be the one. In any case, the Lotus-Europa webpage states that Glacier Blue metallic was only available on Europas July 1973 - October 1974 (interesting that the end date is October, but the year later, whereas Glacier Blue for the Plus 2 was July to October 1973; perhaps an error of year on the Europa site? Or just longer availability?).

Oops, I see Tim has beat me to a post.
I bow to Tim's assessment of the colour.

The Lotus Europa TTY 95H was my late husbands and my car, purchased in the hot summer of 1976! It was originally red with gold stripes. And if I remember correctly it was a Europa Els. He would be so happy to know it's still about and looking fabulous!! Brought back some fabulous memories, thank you.
