Yes to all of it. I'm in Maryland and already called the number listed. Its in Nebraska but I left a message. I've written emails to the eBay address and the one listed in the ad. Bidding has been swift but I can't see it going to the 40k of the Autotrader listing.

Well, the interesting thing about ebay is that the theory of your bid being a contract only really applies when the seller's description is accurate. If the seller presents him/herself as the owner and is not, or the car is not available, you have no obligation to the process. Further, there is always - with big ticket items - a time period for communications before sending the initial deposit.

Personally, if I bid on and won a car on ebay, I'd travel to the car - or engage an agent - to personally inspect before I sent a penny. If you do that, your funds are not at risk (though you might have wasted the travel monies). Just do what homework you can before auction's end. :mrgreen:
