RTV 384G

When I moved to the USA, I made the error in judgment of selling my 69 Elan +2.
My Dad had purchased an original 69 +2 when they came out, and I purchased mine around 85. So we had some fun with comparisons.

I was doing some research during my search for a replacement and noticed that "my" car was still taxed and registered for the road and in the hands of the same owner since 2002 (I sold it around 1988, when I left).

Any chance that the current owner is on this board? or interested in selling?

I apologize if using the forum like a dating service is innapropriate, but since I don't know anybody at the DVLA, my options for finding the car seemed limited! I won't do it again (:

Thanks

Nick

Welcome, Nick, and I for one think this forum is an excellent place to start your inquiry. I would love to find a Plus 2 which once belonged to my now-deceased cousin.

Can you not use state information to track the owner more carefully?

Regards,

Randy

The car is still in the UK and apparently the DVLA has a process by which one can find the owner, but my reason apparently doesn't fit into the categories... and I don't feel like "misleading" the DVLA without exhausting all the other avenues.
There was once a registry of still running +2s, but I can't find it anymore.
I hope someone might see it here and know the car.

I see. The car is in the UK.

Have you looked at the Plus 2 registries?

yes, but I dont have access to them from my computer over here!
When I get back to the US I will post them.
I bought it (and sold it back) to a gentleman called Guy Griffiths of Classic Transport Company here in Staffordshire, Cannock or Coven I seem to remember. Classic was one of the companies making a +2 convertible, one of the better conversions, I recall.

Jason - yep that is the info that I found.

Splendid news to realize where it is and that it has been well looked after - probably far better looked after than when it was in my hands.
Apparently, it will be soon coming up for sale and it sounds like it will show exceptionally well.
