....... it passed its MOT today !
It all started two years ago when I was looking for a Stag. I don't have a garage big enough for a car (too much motorcycle stuff, benches, etc) so couldn't do much welding in the street. So it's all MattElan's fault - he forced me (well that's what I told SWMBO) to buy a project Plus 2.
When I say a project Plus 2, more an incomplete collection of promise. The photo of the body is taken on my drive, but the others photos are of when I went to look (and buy)
The Spyder chassis was almost unused, although dates probably from the 80's. There were some brand new adjustable struts and front wishbones, but no engine. The gearbox also contained some of its needle roller bearings and selector indents and springs in a plastic bag inside. I subsequently found that many other important little parts were missing
Apparently a PO-2 had started to turn it into a track car, but gone overseas, and this is when the engine went walk-about. PO-1 then bought it but decided to was too much work, found another and decided to part this one out. They had started work on rubbing down the body, and everything was stripped and lying on a table when I went to visit.
So, two years later (twice as long and costing twice as much as predicted) , I give you my (still work needed) Zetec Plus 2
Embarrassingly when I bought the project, I said that I would upload pictures of progress. Well I took all the pictures, just life, jobs, etc got in the way, so maybe I can make time now.
Anyway, please have a virtual beer on me
Peter

Looks great Peter and sits right too. Twice the time and twice the money is still under budget for a Lotus, no matter what you told the wife. Just ask mine.
