GPS tracker

PostPost by: TonyJ » Wed Jul 09, 2014 6:26 pm

Hello,

Just put a GPS tracker into the +2. Really easy to set up, uses a mobile SIM card. Now I can ask where she is (via Gogglemaps) and will get a call if she vibrates/moves. Can also cut power via SMS so the theives can't keep driving her away. All for the small sum of ?25 for tracker device and ?5/mth for SIM card. Chuffed.

I have a similar tracker in my S3, it's great but will drain the battery in 7-10 days if left standing.

Thanks, I had though about that. It has a sleep mode but I'll have to run a test to see how long it takes to drain the battery. Useful to know when out and about. Normally leave it on trickle charge for an hour a day when in garage so not a problem. I am amazed what the tracker can do for so little money. Little to pay for peace of mind.

Might be worth telling your insurance as might get you a reduction in premium if you haven't already. Might make the device pay for it self....

Being a complete cheapskate I was just wondering if it would work with a PAYG card. There's a few of my bikes that could benefit as well as the Elan and the ?5s start to add up.

Hello,
Mine is the Realtime GPS Tracker. You need a 2G SIM so carefull about PAYG - GiffGaff SIM cards work. It's slim so can hide it anywhere and has contections to attach it to the permanent live.

Bought another one for my other car (Jaguar) and pretended I was going to put it in the better halfs car to track her movements  - she was not impressed  .

Wonder why people pay a tracker company a monthly fee?

If I put one in my wifes car, can I monitor where she is?
Then, I could figure out how much time I have before she gets home.

Giving me time to clean up the drink glasses, get the neighbor lady out the back door and clean the ash trays.
Does this sound plausible?

Will you be able to stand the shock of finding that she parks in the staff car park of a local house of pleasure for most of the day?
