My rear seats are not attached to the body, although there are screw holes on the base. Can some kind person let me know what I need, and how to fix them.
Thanks

mine too......and the squab also has an 'L' bracket fitted to its rear edge.....which slots under the squab and behind the seat back

Has anyone got a picture of the upper seat brackets on the +2 rear seats?

Just refitted my rear seats on my 73 +2S/130 and there are no upper brackets on my rear seat just the lower one that screw under the swab. Fitting the rear swabs has caused the top of the rear seat to come away from the parcel shelf and it doesn't want to stay where it should be.

There should be a pin as in the photo below each side directly above the bottom bracket that fits into a hole in the parcel shelf each side.

Thanks Rohan, much appreciated.

I am missing the pins and the holes in the parcel shelf. That pin looks to be the same as the one used in the boot floor* and if I remember correctly aren't (easily) available. So I'll need to come up with a custom solution.

Any thoughts suggestions welcome... It seems the hole in the top of the for the pin seat is around 1/4 and not fantastic for screwing something into.

Thanks,

Mark

If you cant find the original pins I would possibly use a suitable course threaded bolt with the head cut off to the right length. Then screw and glue it into the seat back top and drill matching holes in the parcel shelf. If you have access to a lathe it should be easy to turn it to archive the original shape if you wanted. I have not looked but I presume there is some sort of spring clip under the parcel shelf it fits into also but this is probably not critical to its function.

Thanks Ronan.

I tried to fit a bolt shaft/thread into the top of the seat but the metal is just too thin/mis-shaped to get anything like a secure fit. Instead I fitted a bolts on the brackets in the car, then drill the parcel shelf and slotted it over the bolts. I had to drill new holes in the seat top but with some messing around and adjustment the top of the seat hooks on to the bolts and is securely fastened.
