John, it's way up North, I've heard they eat people up there, and then there's the dark satanic mills ...
I'm not keen on the Spyder stuff, the ride height looks wrong, the Chapman strut is
deleted here right ? Not my ideal Lotus. It's had it's DNA 'improved', hey, I might be wrong, but I'd like to pit a sorted original against a Spyder chassis converted car with those new fangled rear upper wishbones.
I'm now 90% sure, as I can't yet afford ?30k to do justice to a two seat Elan, that my first Lotus is looking to be an Elise S1. It's an inspired use of aluminium, and aerodynamics, and an appreciating classic.
I'll be keeping in touch on here I hope. Never yet had a ride in any Elan... Hint hint

Well my son and daughter in law live in Gloucester but SWMBO likes the trip down there in the Pensioners Shopping Trolley..she really has no sense of adventure...maybe one day.
