Just wondering if what I have just removed from my car (with the nice little 'lip' all the way round the bottom) is scrap, or is any company/person able to restore/repair it. I have a repro one which seems to fit moderately well, but it's definitely a little different.

Yep........that can be repaired. Unless you can form and weld you'll need a shop to do it. At what cost?
As to that, I got nothin'.

suspect it will be cheaper to get a better s/h original and rechrome . That's what i've ended up doing.
I had a bumper which was holed but not as extensively as yours . What i noticed was how light it was when compared to same bumper without corrosion ...i.e. there was thinning as well as the holes .

From memory, wasn't a Plus 2 rear bumper a Riley Elf bumper cut in half and extended?

correct! or wolseley hornet (bit cheaper no wooden dash) . I have one up in the loft in good nick and original plan was to cut good bit out of my original and extend it to fit... but do uknowwhat ? life's too short .

actually, it's not a centre piece that has to be put in ... it's two pieces outboard of the number plate lights .... otherwise u have numberplate lights in completely the wrong place lol!

Anorak question: did the original have two square grommets on the extremities ? Can one buy/make these ?
