John
Your piccie has just prompted me to remark that the Plus2 is one of the finest looking cars ever to have graced the tarmac...along with the E-type,Daimler Dart etc.etc.etc.

Thanks
John

Give me a few days - new driveshafts nearly on, new springs on, new dampers... need to sort out the brake pipe mounting and shake-down. How about 1st June?

Well

After spending a few weeks fettling, replacing hed gasket, sump gasket, checking valve clearances, having tacho and speedo calibrated and so on, I can report that it goes like a scalded cat!

Just needs a wash and a polish and summer awaits.

Agree with you about the E-Type, but Daimler Dart? Are you taking the p? :-)

My car passed the MOT friday, so I would be up for it, other than it has developed a mystery cut out problem and the engine died running up running up cow pasture road. Consequently I have not trust going for a long run until I have resolved the problem.

It smacks as a vapour lock, as the carb bowls were empty, but it has never had that problem before. Ran it briefly yesterday and it was OK, so I am baffled.

The car needs the carbs tuning anyway. Do you know anyone in the area, who actually has experience of Webers/Deloros?

Cheers,

David

Adi knows of a place in South Yorks that did a really good job on his Elan - I think he posted about it somewhere... Here it is:

I've sent the info to David a couple of days ago. But yes, it's John Sleath near Doncaster (pretty much in between there and Sheffield, on a farm). A really nice guy and really incredibly good at what he does.

TMSport sounds ideal. I don't trust the car to drive though Leeds or Bradford at the moment! I have been to Bogg brothers in the pat who are excellent but the far side of York!

I will get the car booked in.

Cheers,

Wow....what a difference a day makes......
Car was a little lumpy below 2500rpm....so went for a rolling rd tune up......
This morning the car had 100bhp.....this afternoon with new plugs and jets 121bhp....and the delivery is silky.....
Best ?170 I've spent in a while
