Excellent Dave. I was thinking it is a Caterham with a body. You will be impressed with the extra room! :) Best of luck with the search.

Welp...........look in the for sale section of this website. Comes with a 5 speed. Here is your chance.
I does look like it has a sunroof..........they never came from the factory with a sunroof.

I've often wondered if folks in the U.K with sunroofs were having moments of wishful thinking.

Thanks for heads up, although not sure about retro fitted sunroofs.

Noticed Paul Matty seem to have an older car here :- http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C485434# . Following advice on here I might pop over in lunch hour, as only 30 mins away, to get familiar with cars.

nice early car.....
couple of things.....the spots to the front don't look Lucas.....this car may have come without...
also the rear end....has an exterior boot handle and the straight through exhaust.....
I always thought the boot handle type came with the transverse exhaust

just a couple of observations......

quite like the alloys tho'

John, after everything I've read that you've gone through, are you selling up? You seemed to have done so much and I've learned a lot from your posts.
Regards,
Kev.

Not sure yet.

I have an 911 targa shaped itch that needs scratching...

I will probably keep the little red beauty - I have just spent the last few weekends and ???? tweaking and tidying and media blasting and painting and fettling.

Off on a jaunt to lakes in a couple of weeks to photograph it on classic English roads.

Early plus 2 center consoles seem still to be a problem? I resolved the crash pad replacement by making an aluminium former and covering with foam, and sanding it to the exact shape. Looked entirely original except for the saddle stitch along the top edge because not possible to cover in vinyl in one piece. I have photos if anyone is interested.
Back to centre consoles.
Does anyone make them to the original pattern?
Alternatively, does anyone have photos and dimensions? If so I am happy to build one either in aluminium
or glass, whichever is more convenient, and report back.
Problem is I cannot recall the exact shape.
Regards,
Bill

Many thanks for the Fibreglass/ Miles contact.
I shall phone him tomorrow...I'm a bit far away to drop in.
But please help with the two types to which you refer.
My Plus 2 is early; it had a basket weave hinged lid...perhaps for keeping mail in.
Provided you were most unpopular!
Regards,
Bill
