Hi Olia

I test drove the same car and it was quick and quite refined over the bumpy country roads around the Spyder factory. It was however not particularly well mapped and the gear shift linkages distorted the H shift pattern into a rounded H which was a bit strange. Although I like the idea of modern running gear, I ended up buying a standard restored car which makes me smile every time I drive it and have no regrets.

Good luck in your search.

Phil

Hello,

I bought a Spyder Zetec Elan+2 a few years back...a used model directly from Spyder...loved the car but incredibly frustrating, had to go back up to Spyder every month for 6 months to repair, clutch went after about 3000 miles (half of which had been to get there and back to correct issues) which they were happy to take ?2000 off me for but they weren't so helpful when things covered by warranty went. I had to leave it there for about a week once as it was a decent old round trip and found an extra 600 miles on the car.

Essentially lots of issues with them, felt like I had been a bit mis-sold and they are very helpful when they see ? but not much ever their fault...but the car was a great experience when it wasn't stuck in Whittlesey.

Just a word of caution for you
