Lotus Elan

engine conversion

PostPost by: piple » Thu Jan 16, 2014 3:42 pm

I have +2 project car :D

I plan to convert to a Sigma engine. I found a few toppics which mentioned, with the original chassis the crossmemger has to be cut. Due to regulation I am not allowed to, and the Spyder chassis isn't a option as well.

My first question now is about the lenght of an zetec (1.8/2.0) engine compared to the Sigma engine.

Are the any pics available from the halve moon cut?

Piple- There are notes and photos for this conversion in this thread (and others).

Here are two illustrations you might find useful. I'm not sure of the original source of these, but they appear accurate. I got them from the internet years ago.

Put your location in your profile if you will. It helps when making suggestions as to where to get parts and such.
