When the Plus 2 design changed to include driving lights, did they only use Lucas square 8's?
Or, was there another brand also used?

mike

My +2 S1 30 ? says fog on th dash and my lights look identical and they are the chrome backing although they came from the once available Frank's sports car world salvage yard so I'm not so sure. Gordon Sauer

Thanks boys.
As an addendum, I did have two private messages stating the back side of the Square 8's on their cars were chrome. My '72 has a brand other than Lucas. They make new ones but they aren't made in the U.K is my understanding. That will not do...........

I have 2 fog lamps, both chrome backed Lucas Square 8. I have removed them both for the time being as I quite like the clean uncluttered original +2 valance that doesn't have fog or driving lamps and my fog/driving pods are quite flimsy plastic vinyl affairs that show a very shaky sort of light when in use due to the poor fixings available for the lights.
I think the first +2's had these plastic fog/spot lamp pods and later cars had properly glassed items, perhaps somebody can shed some light ( pun not quite intended).
A Europa spoiler in place of the lights is my intention next year.

Mike,
My '71 +2S has the original chrome backed Lucas models. However, they are both fog lamps rather than one driving light and one fog light. Nevertheless, each is wired to a separate toggle swith (I replaced the rocker switches for aesthetics) and had a custom mount made for the switches out of aluminum.
