I've never seen a rear seat done like this before and wonder why it was done. I don't think it can be original, as Lotus tend not to add weight without reason, and given rear seat passengers are more likely to be children, too short to need head restraints, or dogs, why would they do this?

It's also blocking rear view and making the rear shelf less accessible.

Re-trimmed in original plastic, not leather. Was leather even an option at the time?

Does anyone know this car, by the way?

The front seats appear not to be lotus items either.

Don't think you can really have front seat head restraints as it will stop you tilting the seats forward. (Unless you have the low profile federal style ones.)

As for the rear head restraints, I think they look a bit ugly and bulky for a nice wee lotus.

Salut

Interesting to see if not to my taste. Would be easy to do with the back seat being just a bit of ply.

Front seats look like a cross between the +2 and +2S - look nicely done, too. They also look a bit like some seats I bought which in turn look like the seats installed in Escort Twin Cams.

I have to admit, I quite like this car - although like others, I did spot the different seats, both front and rear. The ad does rather imply the rears came like that from the factory! Regardless, the standard of finish looks very good. Canterbury is a long way from me, though.

I offered a straight swap with my 2002 Caterham SV (the bigger chassis) Evo 220bhp but they wanted cash as well.....not really going to happen, when you consider what the SV is worth with this engine, probably over ?19,000.

It will be a pain for me to get the Caterham registered here in France, hence my idea of exchanging it against a good +2.
