Yes, why indeed?!
Is this the sort of "thing" you have in mind?

Richard's photo-shopped picture makes the prospect of doing the nose swap look quite attractive, however it's unlikely to look that good in real life, the +2 is balanced and elegant even when viewed with a contemporary eye. Please see the picture below of one of the +2 prototypes in this case the METIER, it has a strange mix of Elan and the +2 it was to become, not a good marriage IMHO.

Thanks Richard!
I have read your post on the Elan forum properly now........ will stick in Plus 2 forum for the duration then.
It does seem an odd thing to do a front end swap of this type, it would require a fair bit of cutting and shutting due to the differing body widths, although anything is possible with fibreglass, the result in the flesh would be interesting to see. Perhaps we have all become too accustomed to the shape and proportions of our cars that anything different is just wrong somehow.

Ref; Spyder Fan blue +2 picture. I don't think the baby elan pop-up head lights do anything for the car. However, I really like the lines of the blue car and thought a similar headlight design to Ferrari Daytona would work nicely with the +2 body shape.

It's amazingly close, is it not? The pod on the Cord is wound up and down manually, btw.
Cheers,

i grew up in a elan (just the 6 of us) though my father would not take more than 4 at a time (because of weight)
and i can't get excited about my +2 nose
my wife will not allow the children to ride without seatbelts (i felt safe behind my fathers seat)
regards
