Screws!

I am trying to source the screws which fix the air vents onto the B pillars and front scuttle - I think they are stainless?
Also, a supplier of set screws for the front and rear lamp lenses (preferably stainless) - tried Sue Miller but she doesn't have them.
Cheers for any help.

Hi Jon
There is a chap always at the Lotus meetings (Donnington), and many other classic car meetings, who has the right screws. The originals are plated steel, and I think that his are as well. They are an odd size, and the only way I've bought them in the past is to take the correct ones to him and match them up. No immediate help I'm afraid, and I'm sure someone will know the size, but at least they are obtainable. Oh, and he charges like a wounded bull....about 50p each I seem to remember!

Jon,
I don't know what was original for the air vents but I use a speed nut (no6) clipped to the body and a No6 CSK/raised head self tapper. They are zinc plate but you may be able to get SS now.
The lamp lens fixings are 6/32 UNC so you need a good nut and bolt supplier to get those from. I doubt if you'll get much of a choice of material or finish in the UK though.
Not a lot of help I know and I see Mark has come up with the answer while I was posting.
Cheers

Not the cheapest way of doing it but I bought a set of rear lamp lense screws from Paul Matty a couple of years ago. I think they were stainless.
The air vents on my car are fixed with countersunk self tappers, screwed into those tapped flat clip thingys (portable tapped holes as my Dad calls them), whatever they are called.
Cheers
Robbie
