I have finished last week the first part of the restoration of the Plus2.
As he looked before ...

I have to start January 2 and exactly six months later I was done with it.

How he looks now.

The full restoration can be seen on my Facebook

The 2nd part will be the restoration of the interior.
But that's for next year
Now, given the good weather, should I drive the car.

That looks great - excellent choice of colour. Brilliant photos of the refurbishment as well.

Fabulous restoration work Didi! I looked at your Facebook photos too. Amazing the amount of work that you accomplished in only 6 months. Do you restore cars for a living? I found it interesting all of the aluminum stiffeners that you added to the car. Any chance of you sharing some of your secrets. I may be following a similar path with my car in the future.

Cheers!

@Steve:
No, I do not restoring cars for a living.
I only restoring these Plus2 and it is not completely finished yet.
There are a few details that I still need to do.
But I am a car mechanic.
Due to circumstances I was 4 months at home, and I naturally was able to work well.
The body, I did not repaired completely alone.
The coach builder has helped me with the polyester and of course, the painter did the spray work.
The reinforcements we've also figured out together.
I have no secrets, or maybe a few, but i think, that will be serious "off topic" ... :mrgreen:

@All: many thx

At your interest, I add some nice pictures

Didi, the photos of the failed fibreglass in the wheel arches look very familiar. I've come to the conclusion that this is because the fibreglass is over stressed / too much flexing on these critical points because the body joins between upper and lower moldings are weak or non existant. Did you have a good look at these on your restoration?

Gerry, do you talk about the wheel arches in the front or in the rear ?

The colour of your car looks like that on my S4 Zetec.
What colour did you actually use please?

Cheers
