The car Chris Evans owned was an N reg, I believe this is the same one:

Interesting how the ad (from Jason's link) states it has had a Peter Day restoration but the car has non-standard cosmetics such as the body-coloured engine bay and black carpets - I thought Peter was a stickler for originality and wouldn't have entertained anything non-standard. So maybe it has been restored again by someone else?

To answer the original question, "+2 prices, will they soon be over the ?20k mark???" I would say that I do not believe so. Excellent plus 2s are still available for under $20 DOLLARS!!!!! Fully restored examples sell at 23K in a great day, and very nice samples have been sold for around $12-15 K Dollars in the last 2 years. In sum, you can ask all the money you want, but the question is about sales; what people actually pay for the car (ie., sales). That means that this is still the best Classic Sport British car that you can get for the money!

Agree with Carlos on the current NA pricing.

Edit: Just got Brian`s joke; $20 does sound a bit low Carlos; is that for the gas cap and the car comes free! :)

It seems a bit odd that the spread between a basket case project and a sorted car is nowhere near the cost to do the work, let alone even get the required parts; not sure if it is the same deal in the UK. Although mine might be appraised at around $20K to $25K for insurance purposes, I expect it would be a long wait to sell it in that range. There is one really nice looking blue one that has been listed forever in the $30`s, so I think that sort of defines the current realistic wishful thinking upper end in NA.

Here is a somewhat complete basket case that recently sold for $5K.

And another at say $3K or so (not sure if it sold or not)

And yet, here are two very decent ready to go examples at around $20K to $25K

Sold to an asking of $18.5K. Call it $20K with the seats sorted.

And a very nice one sold to $26K asking earlier this year. The seller is a lister here and working up an Elan project. I felt the asking was very reasonable, the car very well presented. Was listed for a couple of months.

This project car sold at ?3,429

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/280936330060? ... 500wt_1182

I would say that is the lowest UK price for a complete +2. I have seen running engines sell for close to that price.
