rebuild

hi,

i have an early +2 which i bought as an unfinished project, the body of the car is numbered 0794. thing is i don`t know where the interior lights actually fit! is there one by the rear view mirror? are they fitted above the doors? or somewhere else?

i have posted before concerning the exhaust manifold, my car has a ford 1600 xflow engine with a cast iron manifold, the lotus header has a different bolt pattern. the previous owner had chopped the new lotus chassis to fit the exhaust!

i have repaired the chassis and had the down pipe remade to fit correctly. but would really like to fit a stainless tubular header, i have had a price ?550.00 plus but as i want to fit a zetec engine eventually i have decided to run the xflow till i have the funds to fit the zetec.

i have also had the speedo and rev counter refurbed by speedy cables, they did a great job. i have changed the polarity to negative earth and would like to fit an alternator, i need to buy the relevant brackets to do this, i rang sue miller who informed me that the brackets are no longer available, does any one know another supplier?

what do the door seals look like? is there only the one that fits on the body or is there one fitted to the door? the pop up headlights are not working i read on the forum that the vacuum system can be replaced with electrical units from the mx5, does anyone have any info on how to do this?

a lot of questions i know but this is the place to ask.

thanks.

Keith

Alternater brackets from the x/flow 1600 motor fit ,as it seems you are sticking with that engine for the time being =exactly what I am doing.

Keith,
There are 3 interior lights. Here are some pics of them. There is one on each of the B pillar trims, I have shown the left hand side one. Also all of mine have the in-built switches, they are available with and without switches. I am not sure what is correct but hey it's a Lotus, did they even know? They are from a Cortina or Anglia.
Cheers
John

Hi Keith

Glad it helped. There is a lot of info on here but the search function is not that great so it helps if you can remember where you saw it. :D

Any questions, most people are glad to help.
