Would an engine from a '73 Europa be the same engine from a early '70's Elan/plus 2?
Or, I have a chance to buy an engine from a '73 Europa would it work in a early '70's Plus 2?
If my writing doesn't make sense then fire away at me.

Thanks guys,
Mike

Alternator is driven off inlet cam on Europa but pulley can be taken off or fit other camshaft.
You would have to get an alternator and brackets to fit to front end.
The water pump inlet pipe is facing forward as opposed to an Elans side facing so would probably need a water pump new front cover.
I cant remember if the flywheel is the same as the Europa has a different spigot brearing arrangement.
Exhaust manifold is different.
Basically it has the same engine but the ancillaries are a little different.
With a little work it could be fitted.
Oh yes ....as long it is a TC as above post says it should be.

Here is the lowdown. There is a guy close by that has a Europa engine and transmission for sale. The ask is $2500.00 U.S. The engine needs to be gone through.

I don't have a Europa (although they are neat looking cars) and would sell the five speed if it's worth anything.

Opinions please

Worth anything? Down to supply & demand in your kneck of the woods, I guess.

But, is it the original box?

Look here: (http://www.lotustalk.com/forums/f120/eu ... box-84109/)

A Renault replacement, maybe?

Cheers - rd
