What is wrong with these people???????
Seeing what was done to the Plus 2 was bad enough but the Europa - words fail me. Surely the very essence of a Lotus is it's smooth line and minimalist approach. Very happy with my S130 and Europa Special as God, sorry...Colin, intended.

Found it.
This one was burnt to a crisp, hence the re-body. The accompanying description of the rebuild is quite something.

It really is/was something else. Originally planned as a convertible, but went for a compromise. It's not clear from the photo but the "compromise" was:

The whole project comes across as an automotive version of "Grand Designs" (UK TV prog about people's vision and the homes they create from nothing)

This thread has me thinking. Maybe I should not place a "Cheby" v-8 into my Bugatti. A spoiler and a Muncie tranny will be O.K. .

Lotus Esprit referenced prior. Sonderkonstruktion fur Sonderindividuum.
Although I should not be one to criticize as I used a Spyder chassis and suspension arms on my +2. I also added an alternator and an alloy rad. I did restore the body as original with the exception of the front end. I replaced the front body section Mid wheel arches forward). The new part was for the later +2's with the fog lamp bucket molded in. I could have glassed it flush but added fog lamps instead. Heresy you say!

The V5 registration document was available when the car was previously advertised, but is not available now. Also the registration number was given as GM 9544 and it was described as transferrable, implying that the car had a current MOT at that time. This is odd as it was claimed to have been off the road for twelve years.
