Getting close !!!

so i went to check on progress on my +2 today, its been 5 years since i bought my car and i bought it as a non runner so you can imagine my delight as 5 minutes into entering the garage my genius mechanic turns the engine over for the first time and she sounds amazing, no leaks and good oil pressure. i feel like my first child has been born

well your not entirely incorrect :oops:

a friend who used to work on my dads rally cars said he would help me restore the car, baring in mind he is the same guy who was meant to restore my dads TR6 in the late 80's which i have just sold the remaining chassis, engine and box which are the only parts that havent turned to dust. i have been alot more persistent than my dad was and hes actually done a great job. The 5 year thing is generally due to funds but all parts are paid for now and fingers crossed will be on the road by the end of the year.

UPDATE. very nearly there now, just bonnet on, windscreen in and a bit of tweeking here and there. Hopefully another +2 on the road for the summer.

unfortunatly i think the clutch has siezed so engine out monday morning and then im looking forward to polishing her up

Windscreen gets fitted monday, m.o.t is tuesday and my birthday is wednesday. If she passes the m.o.t then it will be a very happy birthday, fingers crossed!
