Jim,

Ahhhhhh......Palomar Mountain. The only problem is you have to be real careful of the bikers on their crotch rockets. They tend to spend as much time over the center line as the do on their side of the road. Picked one out of the guard rail last year on the South Grade. Fortunately both were able to continue with not too much damage.

Just got the headlight pods back in place over the weekend (see other thread) and was fortunate to still have some decent driving weather here in WI. It's going to be a painfully long winter here waiting to get this car back on the road in the spring time! In reply to some earlier comments, we do tend to use an obscene amount of salt on the roads up here which makes driving in the winter time too risky to drive these rare classics. I owned a Seven for quite a few years and as you can see, she poked her head out of the garage pretty regularly during the winter to check if the snow was gone. Sob - sob !!!!

Also in reply to an earlier comment, yes, I did import this from England, right-hand drive and all. It took about 2 months total from the start of negotiations with the dealer, until it arrived at my doorstep in WI. I was a first-time novice importing a car, and although the process seemed agonizingly slow, it all worked out pretty well. You can PM me for details on what I went thru to import the car. I have somewhat thought about writing a book about my experience. It doesn't seem like many people have gone thru the experience of importing a car and with all of the potential pitfalls involved, I now understand completely!

Cheers!
Steve

When Jan or Feb come around I'll pull my Elan out of the garage and take a pic of the snow here in my driveway. It'll be pretty obvious why I don't drive a 2 wheel drive car in WInter. Our daily drivers are my wifes Subaru ( incredible) and my Jeep Grand Cherokee (so so). We should have a WInter picture thread around Feb for comparison.

There is a late +2 130/5 DHC CNS car in Ontario Canada, French Blue!

Imported from Ireland some years ago. I think for sale?

This one Alasdair? I saw it a couple of years ago, and didn't realize it was still available.

Love the idea of the winter photo thread. Great looking car Steve.
