I spotted his "bargains" earlier - I was particularly taken with the steering wheel, which is not only not even a genuine +2 wheel but the condition is best described as "relic" as far as I can see !

Ye Gods !!
I thought that was what one had actually sold for and I was thinking of my 2 old Elan ones hanging from the workshop roof, and thinking $$$$$$ !

Then looked at the auction and realised it was just another dreamer.....

I have just phoned him, because i thought that the ad was Ebay speak for "I have loads of parts for a Lotus but dont want to list because of the costs involved, and i can sell the parts easily if i just let people know i have them". Er, sadly not! The boy on the end of the phone just lists parts for his guvnor, and genuinely thinks they will get a good offer. Ask me what i thought they were worth.............end of conversation!

Now i remember that a forum member went to have a look at this car a while back, and reported that there was nothing worth saving, and that the guy thought everything was worth a fortune.

I had better increase the house insurance to cover my box of old soft shocks and sagged springs - must be worth a few thousand pounds - and i was thinking of sending them for scrap

cheers

I thought I would go for the windscreen wiper motor at ?150

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/LOTUS-ELAN-S130-W ... 1c106b9771

But then remembered I had bought a new one for my rebuild for ?35.

Dont think I'll bother finishing the S4, its obviously worth more in bits at this rate.

I am sure you have all noticed that the wiper motor shown is actually on an early +2, not a 130! Looks in a sorry state as well. Would anyone actually pay these prices?

I had spotted the rusty front discs for ?120 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/LOTUS-ELAN-S130-D ... 19ba353d27 and even my wife raised an eyebrow when I choked on my coffee while browsing the Ebay Lotus bits!!
