Lotus Elan and Lotus Elan Plus 2 Forums

New member to the forums but not to Elan+2's.I had 2 Elan +2 in my twenties & got to the ripe old age of 54 & bought another one on my birthday( Elan +2s130 1972)
That was 2& a half years ago, I've always used the forum for any problems & thought it was time I registered.
Have done quite a lot to the car in 2 years, am currently doing front wishbones (powdercoating & bushes) although 2 of the inner sleeves of the bushes have so far refused to come off of the chassis fulcrum pins.Also doing anti roll bar drop links &bushes, I don't think it's going to be an easy job to get links back onto the bushes once they are on the bar.
Are there any other members in Dorset.?

Hi Kerryt. Welcome to the forum. I'm in sunny Dorset on the coast - well, not that sunny at the moment. In fact there are deep puddles all over the roads. Will it ever dry out! Roll on summer. I have the same car as you; mine was manufactured Oct '72. Probably a close chassis number to yours. It's not back on the road yet as it's been through a complete restoration since I acquired it in boxes a few (too many) years ago. It should be on the road by now but pressure of work and family and an enjoyment of tv and beer mean that it still isn't finished. I don't want to put more info re location etc onto a public forum, but happy to via PM. I've met up with several guys from the forum over the years and had the odd visit too.
