Is this an on-going restoration or have you completed it?
Repaired chassis?
Nice to see some fresh paint before the ravages of the road start to reclaim it..

Hi John
yes this is an ongoing job.

Chassis repair was the small tear caused by the drive shaft when the coupling let go,as the damage was very light and away from the box sections and there was no dimensional changes I TIG welded and plated (behind) the area (also I'm a coded welder)

The chassis was galvernised but a couple of areas on the bottom bolt flange had got the white dust just starting so it was etched primed then grey enamelled.
All suspension was shotblasted then hot zinc sprayed then black enamelled
All new bushes / bearings / springs etc you name it and it's either rebuilt or replaced
Body went back on yesterday (new intrusion side bars fitted also stainless inner wing closing panels)
So just got the rest to do now

Nice, all we need now is your location (hope it's north-west UK) so we can see the finished product.. (or even the pre-finished work)

Hi Alex
The body went back on 3 weeks ago but before I did that I had to put new side impact bars in (Spyder galvanized) and made stainless steel closing plates and stainless safety belt achors (see pics the dust and bits are what was left of the originals)
Also have now had to drill out the light pod bolts as they had corroded to the bonded in ali blocks and have now tapped them to 8mm (was 1/4 whit) also I have made a new cross bar for the light pods, next job is to make a stainless steel bracket for the vac unit.
As the car is now outside (my Dax cobra sits in the garage) work will now have to be weather related
