Thank goodness English isn't my first language also....
I take it you have petrol smell in the car? and want to modify fuel filler to the later 1971 Evaporative Loss Control type?....Think not,unless you have the later petrol tank....Maybe your first move should be to find the source of the smell/leak?

US English is my native language. But through my career I have predominately interfaced with European, Middle-Eastern, and Far-Eastern workers and the "English" they generate. Somehow, I have little difficulty in determining about what they are talking.
