I've seen this done in Sevens but I think you might have an issue with the height of the engine particually the 2litre as I believe its a fair bit taller then a T.C.

In my humble opinion reckon on replacing almost everything! You are looking at a 35 year old car that was not designed to last long when it was new. You can improve the situation by replacing some parts with new technology but if nothing has been done to the car for years you will be doing it. Once you have done the work, with regular use and maintainance you will have a reliable car and it will be worth all the effort.

yes Hamish,

there is a guy in Holland with a plus two fitted with a stainless steel chassis and powered with an alfa engine.
I should get in touch with him!

We are working on this +2 Daily Driver with Mikuni carbs that will work with Ethanol fuel. I don't yet have any dyno data from the Mikuni addition, however the car really pulls nicely.

We're trying to take care of the weaker points while keeping the Lotus twin cam in the car. The water pump is the last big mechanical thing we wish to pre-empt. Will keep you posted. Thanks!

This car is for sale in Holland with a car dealer on the Dutch website Marktplaats dot nl right now. It suffered a more or less serious interior fire. You can see the fat bulge to allow for the Alfa DOHC head.

In the same add you can see a picture of the ss chassis.
