Seems like it should be possible to create a plastic model (perhaps multiple parts) that way without having to bother with creating special tools.
That said I know very little about 3d-printing so I don't know if it would work - but it may be worth a try.

How about a 3D scan of a Plus 2 and then 3D printed model from resin that can be finished by hand either by the owner or a model making company?

When we did the Porsche, it was a bit different as we scanned the car, created a buck and the bodies are being hand made from aluminium.
I will have a look at the rough costs of scanning a plus 2 and then creating some 3D printed versions that owners could hand finish and paint themselves.
I am away for a few days and will update during next week.

This is the second the seller has offered. The last sold for ?36, and a ready-built for ?65 (!).
As a bidder and +2 cabriolet owner I forbid anyone from this forum bidding if they don't have a +2 cabriolet themselves
