I've been seeking a +2 model to no avail for a long time....

smts will make the +2 for you...would just depend on quantity....IIRC they are happy with a run of 25~50 units.....
price was about ?50 built or ?30 as a kit....ring and ask if you're interested....

I'm not surprised about SMTS, when I spoke to them it was a definate no, I don't think its a question of how many they would need to do a run, its about the moulds being degraded so they would need to retool.

I bought one of there Lotus Carlton kits towards the end of their run and its very poor an will need lots of work on it to be any where near a decent model.

Keep the interest going guys we are a long way of 150 at present but if we can keep it going then we will get there, besides this forum there are modellers out there who without a real car or even particular affinity to Lotus take one anyway. So this means I don't have to get the whole 150 from this forum but I do need to get a lot closer yet!

Just a bit more comment on some of the posts.

A) Sean, Advertising on Ebay. I'm not sure about this one, it is probably against some rule to just advertise an idea or proposal, anyone know? Secondly with this forum I am sure that those who say they would want one mean it and I can rely on the numbers. I'm not sure the same could be said if we juts put it to everyone on Ebay.

B) I am doing something along these lines in a modeling forrum as well and the upake is about the same at present but after only a few days it is quite encouraging.

C) TIM, As for an "official" registration I will probably get to that at some point if the project looks like its going to get off the ground. I didn't want this to look like some scam, send me ?10 now and god knows when, if ever, I might send you some bits of plastic. I think that when the project is agreed and I have seen the proptotype model etc it would be reasonable to ask for a holding deposit and have a more formal approach, until then I don't think it would be appropiatte.

D) So far on this forum there are about 13 or so, I would obviously be having a couple and from other sources there are about 11 orders so lets say we have 25 for certain. Thats not bad. Once there is a prototype model and people can see something tangable I think more people would order one, with a prototype I can also see if there is any interest from the specialist modeling retailers, I know of a few, they would only perhaps take a couple each as stock, no want wants money lying around on shelves but if I advertise it in a couple of trade magazines then maybe some more orders would follow.

E) I knew this would not be easy, but I am covinced that if a nice kit/model was available then I should be able to sell 150. I don't need to place the whole order to get the prototype built, just a whole heap of money for their time and effort, photographing, measuring and then modeling. At this stage I am encouraged.

well thats a bit of a bugger.....
I only said they would say yes as the m100 lot have just asked if they would be prepared to remake the m100....and they said yes if it was for about 25 units.....
they havent made the m100 for longer than the elan and +2...but they said yes....
I dont know....

I'm sure it's something to do with the mould being poor. I think to produce it again they need new moulds so its propbably not viable for small runs.
