Jason , nice to see there's someone local....
Hi Rich
If you want any help or advice PM me and I will tell you my address and mobile number.
Or if you are bored you can search for my car on Google maps I can give you clues
My +2 is not running at the moment as I am in the middle of changing the rear suspension and the clutch is seized

Now that sounds like a great game, let's see who can find it first
Jon (with nothing better to do right now!)
Actually on second thoughts I think I'll put my cylinder head in the oven and see if I can fit new Valve seats

Certainly does look good...and that's the original Pye radio...as per the early Plus 2 Parts book!
Have a look at the interior lights. There should be one by the rear view mirror, and one either side at the rear. Are they different???

Jeremy, you're all at sea.
RichC....excellent news! Yours is now the 5th pre-'S' Plus 2 I've seen / heard about that has non-switchable lights in the rear, so it's sounding like that is the correct setup. These lights tend to disintegrte with exposure to, erm, light, and are getting hard to find. The switchable ones seem to only have been made for the Plus 2, so are very rare....not surprising if there is only one per car. The rears are the same as the Zephyr Mk 3, and the lens for the rears is the same as the lens for the front....and it's the lens that disintegrates.

Hi Rich
I hope you have the pedal box in the boot? There are 2 types and the one that should be in yours is a bit of a pain to get hold of. I recently ripped my one out and refurbed it as I could not get another one. You could fit the later box if you are not worried about originality?
Pic of my pedalbox attached. The holes in the top are not standard. Note the mounting flange, the later boxes do not have this.

Jason,
Where did you get the top for the brake master cyl, I've been looking for that type of extended plastic top for mine but can't find one.
My pedal box actually has an aluminium access plate on the top which can be unscrewed to get access to the tops of the pedals.
Cheers
Jon

Hi Jason,
I fitted a Girling transparent brake reservoir to my car. When I unscrewed the cap the reservoir unscrewed very slightly resulting in brake fluid leaking all over my repainted pedal box and stripping the paint off. You have been warned!

Further to the discussion regarding the interior light fitment, I can confirm that on my car (50/775) the front light is switchable and the two rear quarter lights have no switch. I also have suffered with disintegrating lens syndrome and have had to resort to fitting lenses with switch cut-outs to the rear units. I did see new lenses on fleabay but at ?35 I feel they are a tad expensive.
I look with envy at the centre consol on Richc's car, it appears to be in very good condition. Unfortunately mine has suffered at the feet of my 3 year old son, does anyone know of repair/replace soloutions or if there have been any previous discussion threads?

yup you guesses right. the pedal box is in the boot .Quite nicewith its matt black wrinkle finish -Isthat original? It is open at the top where you have your 2 holes , so seems pretty accessible to me . i know I need a new brake master cylinder 'cos that's the reason the car came off the road in '97.... sooo , if you know of anyone who wants to sell one let me know.
