Where is it now XBH 740J +2 Elan

Does the current owner of XBH 740J use this forum or does anyone know the where abouts it was yellow in colour std +2 but with federal seats. I am a previous owner & last heard of the car in Irthlingborough Northants would be nice to know the car is still in existence

Thanks Mark such a shame to have them languishing in garages i bought that car at 21 years old & it cost me an absolute fortune as i only had a low budget but i still loved it i have the sprint now but still got the bug for a +2 also

It sounds like you need a Plus 2 to play with Ian. You can find a good project for ?3k - ?4k, which is crazy low money for what they are. They cost much the same as an E Type when new! They can be restored quite reasonably as well if you hunt on eBay for bits / good chassis etc., and do some of the work yourself.

Ian it should be tax free as you say but this is the civil service what do you expect. Mark i would love to get a +2 also but do not have the time to restore it would have to be a tidy car but i have 6 cars already & cannot afford the divorce costs on top of a nice +2. Looking at some of the pictures you have posted you must have a few.

If the car is not on the new style V5 then it will not come up as nil.
My mate tried to get a tax disc at the post office about six months ago for his Spit and they tried to charge him. The post office man told him he had to send the old V5 off to DVLA and request the change of duty to nil.
So I would guess the car has not seen the open road for a long time.
