Zetec Lotus elan +2

Im looking at the zetec 1600cc as a replacement for the twin cam in my elan plus 2,any advice would be usefull,can anyone pass on some tips? thanks.
Kick the tyres and light them fires...!!!!!!!

You cannot do a straight swop with the lotus engine as the Zetec engine won't go into the lotus chassis. You need to speak to Andy Widnall at Spyder -he is very helpful. I love the lotus twin cam but my +2 has a 2litre Zetec engine producing 160 bhp. The acceleration is on par with my Sprint but what I like about the Zetec is it's acceleration from about 40mph in fifth. The torque is fantastic. I'm finding living day to day with a Zetec +2 much easier than my old 'lotus powered' +2.
