Hi,
I am fortunate to own a Christopher Neil Plus2 convertible. together with a friend we are rebuilding another Plus 2 and wish to convert inthe same way.
Unfortunately CN no longer carry out this work and despite various requests dont sem interested in supplying the necessary info to allow us to do it ourselves. In particular we need to know who supplied the rear tray which houses the frame when the hood is down.
Can anyone help us?
Roger H

The guy who made the tray still works at C Niels, or he did do a couple of years ago. I can't remember his name but he did the bodywork there.
I went over there and had a good chat with him and bought a tray which he made for me.
He had the mould and did it for around ?70. He was also quite forthcoming with all the other info required.
I bet he is still there, I think it was a guy in the parts dept who put me in touch with him and the deal was done on the side if I recall correctly.
Best of luck
Dave

I *thought* that Paul Matty might also do this. Worth checking there too. The guys at Chris Neil's do seem quite friendly and collaborative though, so that is also a good path. But if it goes wrong (not that that would ever happen with a Lotus) there is little recourse.

Thanks all,
Have contacted Don at CN's who is arranging manufacture of a tray. Hopefully it will arrive sometime in January. Will update you then.

OK...
So what is needed to do the conversion from a coupe +2..
I'm guessing that the hood is the sticking point?

Further to the conversation about CN conversion of a Plus2. we have now recieved the tray from CN at a cost of ?120 as promised at the end of Jan. For info during a recent visit to Lotus bits .com Mike Taylor produced a full frame/hood and tray from a damaged Plus2.
Wish we had known this before!! He was asking ?80 for the lot.
