Hi there,

Just wanted to mention that I am looking to buy an Elan +2, and have placed an ad in the sale section of the forum, in case anyone reading here has one they are ready to sell. :?:

Thanks much, Andy

If you're looking to restore one I have one for sale in Tennessee. Make me an offer I can't refuse. The shell is in pretty good shape and all of the parts are there. It was disassembled and has been stored in a barn for 25 years.

It is a 1970 Elan +2S vin 0054N

Hey Andy,

I just listed a 72 Plus 2S located in southern California on ebay for a friend of mine. It needs a bit of work to get it runing. But I feel it is a very good starting point.

Look for item# 120135856316 if interested.

Let me know if you have any questions,

John

Are you sure about that VIN (50/0151)?

"Are you sure about that VIN (50/0151)?"

Gene,

The VIN plate in the left door opening is riveted in place and reads ...

Month and year of manufacture +05/71+

Vehicle identification no. +50/0151-N+

What can you tell us about that VIN number?

I can shoot you an unaltered photo if you like?

John

This is not the whole number but does completely specify the car. My +2S is 50/0170N and shows 08/71 as the month and year of manufacture. As we know, "N" identifies a federal +2S. The VIN and date for 0151N seem consistent with mine.

Without the 'N', it would be an earlier build. Mine is 50/0183 circa late '67.
