Looks like I'm in for a garage party

Was at at friends 'Saturday Open Garage Gathering' last Saturday.
A friend drove his Caterham, my neighbour borrowed my Caterham, and I drove the Elan. The garage ownder had a Pagode Mercedes and an original Audi Quattro on-board.
A lovely way to spend a Saturday afternoon 8)

Thor and Dag-Henning; you are most welcome anytime, just give me one day's notice....

Hello again.

Fixed the cracks on the wheel arch yesterday night (what a way to spend mid-summer-eve; tell the wife wasn't too happy.....).

Next problem is the wheels. As the rubber dates back from 1982, it is rather stiff, and will not pass the norwegian control :?

So; I ordered new Pirelli P3000, and was off to mount them on Friday. When removing the old rubber, it turn out that the wheels were really rusted inside, so the tyre-company refused to mount the new tyres until the wheels had been sandblasted.

On Monday the wheels will be sent to blasting and priming. I'll collect them and paint them on Monday night, and do another try to put on the new tyres on Tuesday.

If the sandblasting isn't successful; is there a place to buy new (or used, but better then mine) original wheels fro the Elan?

Thor or Dag Henning; could you eventually lend me some wheels for Friday??

To be continued....
