That's the 'Members Meeting', not the Revival

Is there racing? Thats all I really care about haha

The Members Meeting is two days of racing. It has different vehicles in the main to the Revival ( 3 days) , but there is some overlap.
The Revival has a festival feel in addition to the racing sid eof things.
The MM has some cracking races, no better , no worse in that aspect to to my mind. But.....is often bloody freezing!
If I was travelling from the States and could only do one event, I'd choose the Revival.

Hmmm I will have to look. My wife and I havent had a real vacation in years and I had a few other events circled on the calendar which made it seem like a good time to be out there. Since I'm dragging her out and she doesn't care about the cars I might have to postpone it until the Revival, but she also may not care either way... we'll see

Before you decide, maybe ask yourself what cars you want to see racing.

My preference are 60s and 70s cars. As Revival is an invitation event, cars and drivers are chosen from pre 1966 events at Goodwood. This year there no Elans racing, and I think only one Porsche. There were early Lotus racers but specialised. The nearest to an Elan were six Lotus Cortinas - superbly turned out, so much so they should not be racing, they were so perfect! One of them came in second to a 7L Galaxie though, so it flew the twin cam flag high for us! The only other class of interest to me is the GTs, but I missed these.

If you are traveling from the states to Goodwood, the Revival is the only event to attend. There is nothing to compare with on this side of the pond.

I have been to the Monterey Historics a number of times and to the big one at Road America of various names several times, but nothing matches the Revival. If there are 2 famous drivers at the american events there are 50 at the revival.If there are 2 famous cars at the american events there are 50 at the revival.If there is 1 competitive race at the american events there are 5 at the revival, and so on. Then there is the setting which we have not seen the likes of in 50 years in America...grass right to the track edge, no guard rails, an active runway with Spitfires and P51 Mustangs right in the middle of the circuit, passionate, knowledgeable fans dressed as they would have in the '50's and '60's. It is almost a sensory overload yet so much fun to be a part of that I shall go back for a third time if I can find a way!!

I definitely want to go for the racing, but I think my wife will want the 50s feel... "luckily" my wife isnt too pumped on this trip Im trying to plan so maybe I can delay it ~6 months for the revival
