My build certificate (1968 Plus 2 supplied in kit form) shows the destination dealer as Steel Sports Cars (strangely enough for a plastic one!!!). This would have been located in Scotland possibly as it was first registered there after being purchased assembled/tested. Has anyone ever heard of Steel Sports Cars ?.

The Certificate of Provenance for my Plus 2 (73031226L) showed a sales invoice to Dicksons Motors Ltd. in Perth Scotland on April 5 1973. It was Tawny with a Silver roof. Does anyone here have any old contacts that may have known anyone at Dicksons? It has been a mystery to me that they seemed to have kept this car as a dealer demonstrator before selling it to its first registered owner in April 1976 with 31,000 miles on the clock.

Coincidentally I also own a 1969 Triumph 1300 FWD originally supplied by Dicksons and still has the dealer plate screwed to the sill step. I'm pretty sure the same family operate a campervan dealership in Perth now so may be worth getting in touch. They're still located on Dunkeld Road so may even be the same premises they've had since the late 50's.
