Lotus Elan and Lotus Elan Plus 2 Forums

Any thoughts or preferences on a good outdoor car cover for my S3 Elan? I seem to go through one every year or so....of course I don't pay big money because I figure I'm just going to replace it soon anyway....maybe time to pay up for a really good one. I'm in San Diego California, so it's not like the most inhospitible place on the planet, but I am near the coast and with moisture overnight and such.....what I have is presumably 5 layer, and now the outer layer seems to be taking it's leave.....over the years I've come to believe car covers just collect the dirt and dust, only to put it back on the car as you remove it, but they are better than nothing, and I suspect on the site here is a collective knowledge of these things that I just must ask the question......any insight, opinion, gentle poking about not having garage space, whatever, much appreciated.....

I had one of these years ago.....they work well, but where I now live I don't have a good place to put it, as it needs to be secured to the ground, as we get a bit of wind here at times....so I am kind of stuck using a cover.....which work fine, but just don't seem to last very long.
