John - absolutely no problem at all. I have had to demonstrate this to several disbelievers uphill - forwards - backwards - slo mo and all went away amazed, especially when they experience the acceleration in second and third........WEEEEEEEEEEE HAAAAAAAAAAA!!

PS - my engine happily pulls gently in top gear from 1200rpm - but to be fair in 30mph zones I sometimes have to use 3rd gear but this is not a hassle.

Reading the different observations make me wonder whether it would not make sense to work with a car friendly transport firm. They do exist.

I have been very fortunate shipping components from the US with a specialised motorsports firm who solved some of the gremlins and with the US Postal folks for smaller, unbreakable items.

Transport is seemingly a problem in the UK as well - one of my UK suppliers waited for 6 weeks to get a parcel within from the London area to Suffolk through delivery problems alone.

Insurance is important as I have come across cases where transporters have dropped newly rebuilt engines doing thousands of Euros of damage - you would not think it possible to smash a MGB engine on a pallet, but some firms manage all the same.

I will speak to the motorsports transporter and see if it is possible to organise some sort of alternative with a container and sympathetic packaging. No promises!

Hill starts and slow moving traffic....

John ;-)

Not with a blotty big engine like he has! In traffic you just leave it in 1st and idle along, there are more problems in slow traffic than a high gear. In mine anyway!
