All the best Alex,
If you need some poorly written stories about Lotus and don't have my latest book just say the word and one will waft its way to you. It won't necessarily make you feel better but it will help take away the focus on the jab pain.

Hi Phil and everyone else.
I heard from Alex in August. Unfortunately he is still quite ill.
I contacted him to discuss a version of his window cable screws which I have been working on for some time now.
I will have more to say about these shortly.

That sounds interesting, would you share details/idea ?
It has been more than one year trying to get hold of a machine shop who actually would do the job of doing a few screws. Or they retire and close shop or are too busy/do not accept the job or don't do it as requested. Frustrating...

I noticed on Alex’s profile he was online this afternoon possibly not well enough to post.

Hi Folks,
Following my post of 23rd August I can announce that my variation of Alex Black`s window fasteners is now available from Sue Miller.
It has taken me over a year in intermittent development since I first asked a question on this forum but it now seems to be OK.
How can all that thought and trials be involved just to produce a screw.?
I have Alex`s approval for this work and following his example all proceeds are going to charity.
My thanks go to:-
Al in Haydock
Mike in Edinburgh
Stephen in Thames Ditton
Rob in Preston
Mike in Oxford, for testing and suggestions, and to Steve in Blackpool for assistance with tooling.
It continually amazes me what this forum can do together.

Class well done.
I bought a set off Alex and still have them in my garage. What’s the main differences?
Cheers

Hi Mark
The main difference is the use of brass, which is a lot easier to work than stainless steel.
I gave the first donation of £250.00 to Cancer Research UK yesterday.
They will claim Gift Aid which will raise it to £312.50.
You will notice that all the testing has been done by others. This is because I am too much of a scaredy cat to dismantle my own door when it is working well.
Thanks for your interest.

Alex and Lotus Elan.net member,
First, Alex I pray you will get well! I too had Prostrate Cancer in 2012. Then spent 3 month in radiation receiving dailey Proton Therapy in Chicago. It's now been 10 years cancer free. I donate every year to the Northwestern Medicine Proton Center in Naperville, Illinois.
As a person who loves Lotus vehicles, I too manufacture my version of the power window cable securing parts. A machinist friend of mine and myself spent days fabricating the tooling needed to manufacture these small important items. They come with the necessary Allen wrenches to install them and make the replacement job easier. Stainless parts.
Please contact Famous Franks Lotus Parts should anyone need any. 678-596-1207
