What does one do with old copies of Club Lotus Magazine?

I'm not a hoarder (much..see the garage!) and I am reluctant to just bung them but I am failing to convince myself I will ever read or search through them again. About 50 stacked in the office, probably others around the house.

I used to keep them but now my wife chucks out the previous magazine when the new one arrives. I pass my Autocar to a neighbour every week. I still manage to hoard my Trout and Salmon though!

Slip mine in covers when read. Nice to look back through when nothing else to do.

I read it cover to cover then put it in the waste paper. I used to remove the Elan workshop page and file it in the garage filing cabinet, but that page has gone now.
I collected Clocks magazine for 30 years in binders, but then found that I had not looked at them.
No one would take them, not even the publisher who sells back copies, even though I offered to drop them off at his home.

Sort them into years, combine a few years in a batch to keep the postage down (paper is really quite heavy) then put them on eBay. I think you might be shocked how much they go for.

Is the content online anywhere?

There are some really good articles scattered throughout these magazines, but as you say, space and a tidy wife often takes priority!

That is an issue for the other car magazines as well. I’ve been buying car magazines since the 60s and have kept them, not to hoard, but to reread them in the future. That was a realistic thought maybe up to ten years ago, but perhaps not so now at my age.

They are great magazines, but I may realistically never go through them again.

The good thing is that the local sports car club decided to set up a library and agreed to take the magazines. Accordingly, I began to pack my magazines into plastic boxes, to safeguard them until they can properly be installed in the library.

The magazines are gone now. I kept those up to the 1970s and actually have begun to reread them.

Still i was sad to see the motjer agazines leave in their boxes. I’ve had them most of my life. Through the window of the pickup, they seemed like they were saying farewell.

Past copies are available and/or online on the Club Lotus web site.

I have a full collection less 1977 Issue 4 and 1978 Issue 1 if anyone has spare of either. Scan would do!
