Does anyone know who might sell peg tubes. The wire and screw devices which hold the ends of the tubes which hold the hood lining in place?
RDent does not; probably not hard to make but the only photos of them I have seen are a bit indistinct!
Not sure how the screw, which presumably comes in from the outside above the door aperture, locates sufficiently firmly with the hooked wire which enters the end of the tube

The screws are the same ones which hold the rain gutters in place. And the piece you are looking for is simply a piece of iron wire, twisted into a loop for the screw to pass through at one end, while the other end is left straight to insert into the tube which is the head liner support. There will also be a Tinnerman "nut" that will retain the screw and the bent wire.

Bill,

I'm in Ohio and the coupe I'm restoring is 900 miles away in Florida. I'll be happy to take photos for you when I arrive and return to its restoration.

Are these similar to those used on the Mustang (example)? These might be adaptable?
